Standardization

A technical committee for standardization TC BY 24 “Identification” (hereinafter – TC BY 24) was established on the basis of the State Enterprise “Centre for Identification Systems” by the Order of the State Committee for Standardization of the Republic of Belarus of 20.06.2008 № 124 (amended by the Order of 28.01.2021 № 20).

The TC BY 24 was established to develop technical codes of practice, state standards of the Republic of Belarus, interstate standards (when the development of interstate standards is performed by the Republic of Belarus) (hereinafter – standards), as well as to carry out other work on standardization in the field of automatic identification (bar coding, radio-frequency identification) and electronic data interchange (electronic business operations, electronic commerce).

Tasks of TC BY 24:

  • Consideration and development of proposals aimed at implementing a unified scientific and technical policy on standardization in the field of TC BY 24 and related fields;
  • Development, consideration and preparation for approval of draft state standards of the Republic of Belarus, other TNLAs in the field of automatic identification and electronic data exchange, improvement of existing TNLAs;
  • Carrying out standardization work on national, international and regional levels in the fields that are within the TC BY 24’s area of activity.

Gosstandart is responsible for organizational and methodological management of TC BY 24; the National Institute of Standardisation is responsible for monitoring and coordination, information and technical support and maintenance of TC BY 24’s activities.
